Jay-Z: The Power Of Our Voice

Jay-Z shares why it is important to exercise your right to vote and how President Obama represents the power of our voice.

As Jay-Z shares:

“For so long, there was this voice that was silenced out there as far as exercising your right to vote. I think it was a voice that was silent because people had lost hope. They didn’t believe that their voice mattered or counted.”

“Now people are exercising their right, and you are starting to see the power of our vote. He made it mean something for the first time for a lot of people. ”

Jay-Z – Hello ft. Lana Del Rey (Urban Noize Remix)

Quickly becoming two of my favorite producers, Urban Noize always provides an imaginative product and with the Lana [EP} about to drop, here’s a perfect marraige of Jay-Z vocal and samples of Lana Del Rey’s demo Serial Killer.

G.O.O.D. Music (Kanye West, Big Sean, Jay-Z, Pusha T and more) – Cruel Summer

The tracks have been leaking one by one all night and now, I can give you the full project from G.O.O.D. Music. Kanye West & Co., who come out firing with a majority of the tracks able to be charting album singles. The only thing cruel about Cruel Summer is that it’s almost fall by the time it came out, but besides that it’s perfection through and through. Don’t even think about skipping on this one and, by the way, the early gem on the album is definitely “Sin City”. Make sure to preorder the album on iTunes for its September 18th release!

Kanye West – Clique ft. Big Sean and Jay-Z

We knew it would happen eventually: Kanye West has broken his silence on the issue of Kim Kardashian’s 2003 sex tape with Ray J. In Kanye’s verse of “Clique”, the next single from the G.O.O.D. Music “Cruel Summer” compilation (Sep. 18), Ye boasts “Ate breakfast at Gucci / My girl a superstar all from a home movie.” Obviously everyone’s first reaction was “They serve food at Gucci?!” West sounds pretty comfortable with Kim’s breakout moment, so perhaps the door is now open for a Kanye-Ray J collaboration. After all, he has worked with just about everyone else in hip hop.

In addition to “Cold” and “Perfect Bitch”, the Hit-Boy-produced “Clique” is Kanye’s third song to mention Kardashian, and we’re guessing there are more on the way. The track also features Jay-Z and Big Sean, both of whom bring the heat.

Verse Simmonds – Bout That Life ft. Young Jeezy

Verse Simmonds and Young Jeezy are two cats that are definitely “bout that life”. Not only leading a burgeoning career as a solo artist, Simmonds lines up alongside Sham to form the production duo, The Jugganauts (Jay-Z and Kanye West “Who Gon Stop Me”), while his guest is head of the Corporate Thugz Entertianment label, the recently-hired Senior VP of A&R at Atlantic Records, and not to mention one of the best rappers to ever emerge from the South.

But for their new collaboration, a relatively minimal, yet nonetheless club-catered, synth-lead number, the pair place the spotlight on the bad bitches of the world who are also “bout that life”. The track serves as the lastest sample of Simmonds’ “Sex, Love & Hip-Hop 2.0 Reloaded” project (“Sex, Love & Hip-Hop’s” sequel), which hits the ‘net for free on September 5th.

Jay-Z – “From Marcy To Barclay’s” Rocawear Commercial

Jay-Z wasn’t born into the easy life, which he readily points out in his “From Marcy To Barclay” Rocawear ad. In the 30-second clip, HOV notes, “I don’t know if you’re ever done. It’s almost like climbing a mountain — you see another mountain and you go to the next one and the next one. My goal was to have one gold album and that was it. And then it became, I want to show that an artist can ascend to the executive ranks.” Watch Hova hawk his brand in the inspirational, retrospective clip below.

Rick Ross – 3 Kings ft. Jay-Z & Dr. Dre

I’ve never been a huge fan of Rick Ross (although that menacing UH will forever live in my heart) but this single from his upcoming album God Forgives, I Don’t has potential to be an absolute classic. Funk Master Flex premiered this collaboration between Rozay and industry immortals Jay-Z and Dr. Dre and the track still has the tags which we’ll try to update as soon as humanly possible but you gotta check this one out regardless! Deemed by the bawse as “the biggest collaboration in hip-hop”, I can’t find it in me to disagree as the heads of Roc Nation, Aftermath & MMG come together for this unbelievable record. God Forgives, I Don’t drops on July 31st, so keep an eye out here for any leaks and enjoy! UH!

*Video*/Hip-Hop – Jay-Z & Kanye West – No Church In The Wild ft. Frank Ocean

“No Church In The Wild” continues the trend of outside-the-box music videos for Kanye West. And although this one isn’t exactly abstract, it still aims to story tell and depict an environment rather than stunt and be flashy. I support Kanye in his artistic maturation/exploration. I think it’s important for culture and society (as I think he knows that and accepts the role in challenging the creative limits of others in this ever expanding world). Oh yea, Jay-Z’s verse was tight too.
