ThatNewJam September Mix mixed by McRandy

I’ve been wrestling with the idea of whether to post this or not over the last couple days and in the name of being impulsive, I decided to go for it. This is a half hour or so mix that I put together last week under my SoundCloud name McRandy that showcases what I’ve been listening to and some of my favorite transitions between songs that I love to mess with. In the coming months, we can hopefully get mixes done by other artists instead of my Virtual DJ efforts but all in all, I’m pretty happy with this mix. You’ll be able to hear a couple hiccups along the way but practice makes perfect and I’m taking you guys along for the ride! Track listing after the jump!

Sub Focus – Tidal Wave (Flosstradamus Remix)

As it turns out, there’s just way more to Flosstradamus than meets the eye. Besides just consistently runnin the trap better than almost anyone you can think of, these two hooded bringers of the bass have this beautiful drum n bass type remix that I stumbled on a couple days ago which features some absolutely stunning vocals on top of an unsurprisingly amazing production.

Mumford & Sons – Little Lion Man (Hot Young Girls Make Lovestep Remix)

While some may find this to be blasphemous, I’m pretty impressed with what Hot Young Girls was able to do with this remix. They kept it really stripped down and kept it from being cheezy and I’m thinking that if I was at a show and heard someone throw these vocals out there I’d be goin off. This is my introduction to this production duo so I’m gonna leave you with all their assorted links and let you guys get familiar with me.

J. Cole x Major Lazer – Get Free ColeWorld

In the truest form of thanks any artist can give, J. Cole releases this track over the Major Lazer produced song Get Free with vocals from Amber of Dirty Projectors. This marks the one year anniversary of the release of his debut album Cole World: The Sideline Story so Cole took to his Twitter, saying that “the words were too relevant to keep in the stash.” Good decision.

Calvin Harris ft. Florence Welch – Sweet Nothing (Original Video + Tiesto Remix)

Jeez I’m messing up. Somehow I missed the original release of this mindblowing collaboration of pop producer of the moment Calvin Harris and world class vocalist Florence Welch of Florence + the Machine fame. I can say with 99% certainty this is going to be making a Top 40 radio takeover in the coming weeks. The video is one of the most artistic projects I’ve seen, especially for a dance track which end up being crowd videos 90% of the time. I also get a hold of the high quality version of Tiesto’s more club-friendly sound to it which goes to further prove why he’s widely considered one of the top to ever man the decks.

Madeon x NERVO – Love Icarus (Aylen Mashup)

Aylen pumps out tracks at a rate unlike anything I’ve ever seen and the crazy thing is that they’re all the constantly high quality you’ve come to expect. He finds a great marriage in the form of the NERVO twins’ vocals from You’re Gonna Love Again and the beautiful instrumental from the then 17 year old Madeon’s major debut Icarus for a perfectly crafted mashup. I see nothing but a bright future for Andrew Lin and TNJ couldn’t be happier.

Zatox & Nikkita – Poltergeist (Carnage Festival Trap Remix)

5 words to summarize DJ Carnage’s latest banger. Epic. Haunting. Felstival. Sized. Trap.

Xaphoon Jones – XJV3

Well that didn’t take long. After we got another leak yesterday, Xaphoon Jones decides that today is the day to drop the final installment of the Xaphoon Jones Mixtape series, XJV3. We’ve seen a few of the tracks before like his Marvin Gaye & Chardonnay remix and the awesome bootleg of Meek Mill’s Amen but the rest of the tracks are all new.

It’s awesome seeing the man Yuri Beats get his shot at the Orange Juice Break (with some amazing production) and we get a Gucci Mane verse added on to the remix of High For This as well as Xaph’s take on Diplo’s bounce banger Express Yourself. There’s an interview he did with ClubTapes which you should all take a couple minutes to check out to see why Noah Beresin is one of the smartest dudes in the business right now and grab the entire tape ASAP!

Haim – Forever (The Knocks Remix)

Another week, another Knocks remix rolls around as they take on Haim’s “Forever” and do their part to give this song some new wings. To get this song for free all the band is asking that you give their Facebook page a like. I know that is a big thing to ask of you, so in case you need the motivation listen to the song below.
